What do the goats say? Apparently they were speaking Addie's language, and begging her to join them in their barn. We stopped by the family farm and introduced Addie to all the animals featured so prominently in many of her books. We saw cows, horses, rabbits, chickens, and a sweet little donkey, but the goats totally won her heart. Maybe it was the way they all crowded around and pushed up to us at the fence. A lot of the other animals were nonchalantly turning their backs on us. Can you blame them? They are such friendly friends these goats! Addie loved reaching through the fence and touching their hair(fur?). She got so upset when she thought we were leaving! I think she really wanted to climb in there with them, she was pulling so hard on the railing and leaning over as far as she could go.

We went through the Family Farm last Sunday. Immy loves it too. She sat way up in her stroller. She liked the little cow best. Love ya!
Genetics again -- do you know, dear Addie Ray, that your Great Great Grandma Helen (Great Grandpa Charles Walter's mama) raised goats, and your Great Aunt Margee had milk goats in Colorado. I'll have to hunt up the photo of your mama's Cousin Crystal, just a bit older then than you are now, and your Great Aunt Katy, with one of Margee's goats, back in 1976.
She is such a happy girl!!! Maybe you won't need a lawnmower, just a pet goat for Addie. Goats do eat grass right? Obviously this is the water grandmother:)
