Pictures of Addie...

We haven't uploaded pictures to Ofoto in a long time. Finally caught up tonight. Check them out.

About one year ago...

I think this picture was taken just about 1 year ago to the day.

Shake your booty!

Sandy Monkey

We went to Golden Gardens last week for a lovely beach romp. For those of you not living in the 206, this is a great park on the water in our neighborhood. Addie loved splashing in the stream, watching the kids digging in the sand, and checking out the birds stealing abandoned snacks. My little monkey loves to eat the sand and rocks. Whatever is lying around goes in her mouth. We had to do a little compromising, sand is OK- charcoal is not. No old crab legs either....eeeeeeew! Jeez Mom, what a kill joy.

So many Aunties it's an Auntie Team!

In Addie Auntie news, here is a picture of Addie and Auntie Michelle chillin' at her crib. Err, house.

And Addie continues to inspire the masses. Check out Aunt Laura's new bloggie!

Little scholar.

Addie fell asleep in the car the other day reading her lovely novel about dogs. As you can see, she's an avid reader!

Word

Adeline has been using lots of signs lately. Our little gifted communicator! She uses all done, more, something that seems like bird, and a range of other hand movements that are similar, but deliberate gestures, with meaning. She has also been saying duck! When we read, Who says quack? she says "Duck!!" at the end every time. Then (just in case we didn't get it) she follows up with a "quack, quack, quack". She also makes a great monkey sound, and just loves to mimic sounds in general. This week she surprised us by asking for water. Not by signing, but with the Aaaaahh sound that she usually makes after a drink. What a crack up!

South Side

Addie and I headed south yesterday for some serious play date action at Tam and Lander's house. The babies had a blast showing off their dance moves and loving on each other, while the ladies devoured some scones and quiche that Lander's Dad made. That man can bake! Addie and Lander got busy outside crawling around looking for dog toys (forbidden fruit is the sweetest!), and playing many rounds of "let me help you with that hat" aka- "sunhats? we don't need no stinkin' sunhats!". Addie is just figuring out how to climb. She got herself up onto the climber, and then down the slide with just a wee bit of leg navigating from mom. What a great day!

Sequoia Rain

Here is a beautiful picture of Addie's other new cousin, Sequoia Rain. This is Laura's cousin Daniel's baby who was born on Feb. 24. Dan, Katie, and Sequoia live in Eugene, OR.

It's going to be so fun watching these girls grow up and get to know each other.

Who's next?!

KAUAI!!!!

We've decided to take a family vacation to Hawaii in June. We'll be staying in a cottage on the west coast of Kauai. Here. Those are some pictures above. We are absurdly excited - and I think Addie is going to love it. I know Mom and I will.....

We're still here....

Haven't posted in a while, but we're still here. We've had some fun visits from Addie's Grandmas - Grandma DD and Gram. Addie got two trips to the Children's Museum and had an all around great time.

Addie's growning up so fast. The other day she was standing up leaning on her table and let go to clap at her Mom. She was just standing there like a big kid. It was awesome. There are so many things to mention, so here are a bunch in short hand: Her crawling is at least twice as fast as she was a few weeks ago. She's gone from a creeping turtle to a speedy little rabbit. She climbs up on everything and grabs at everything. If she can reach it she will. She loves to get a hold of things like the knobs on the stereo and lint balls under the couch. She is Jacque Cousteau and our house is her ocean. She mimics and responds to words and gestures so much more. I was blowing on her hot eggs tonight and she picked them up and started blowing too. She'll attempt words you say or sounds and she's stringing her little words together like phrases more and more. She loves to explore the yard and try to eat dirt and twigs, but she's realizing that's not the best idea. She loves the dog next door and seemingly animals of all kinds - even pictures of dogs make her laugh and squeal.

We're having a blast - life is great.
