MaaaaaaMaaaaaa
What do the goats say? Apparently they were speaking Addie's language, and begging her to join them in their barn. We stopped by the family farm and introduced Addie to all the animals featured so prominently in many of her books. We saw cows, horses, rabbits, chickens, and a sweet little donkey, but the goats totally won her heart. Maybe it was the way they all crowded around and pushed up to us at the fence. A lot of the other animals were nonchalantly turning their backs on us. Can you blame them? They are such friendly friends these goats! Addie loved reaching through the fence and touching their hair(fur?). She got so upset when she thought we were leaving! I think she really wanted to climb in there with them, she was pulling so hard on the railing and leaning over as far as she could go.

Cousins!
Addie has cousins! My cousin Garth and his wife Christy just had two beautiful healthy twins. We're so happy for them and can't wait to meet thier little girls! I think they are officially Addie's second cousins, which is fitting since there are two of them: double second cousins! This is going to make for some very fun Holiday trips! Oh yeah, now I'm an Uncle! A Dad and an Uncle - wow.

Easter Basket
Addie had a fabulous time checking out her basket from Grandma D.D.! The goodies and books are great and all, but the cellophane! The green cellophane wins the prize for most treasured item so far. I fear this may be a sign that she inherited my family trait of saving and hoarding wrapping paper (don't rip it!!), packing materials, ribbon etc. To wonderful to throw away, you just never know! Good lord, we saved everything. Now I am much better at editing (at least I think I am, but you'd have to ask Mike), so I hope I can pass that along as well.

Don't mind if I do!
Addie is a crack up. We were in the grocery store tonight and Addie decided she would help herself to an apple. At first I thought she was just checking it out, then she started munching on it like a big kid. It was incredibly cute to see her work away at it with such calm devotion. Then we decided it was maybe a little much for her, the skin and all, and traded her the car keys for it. She was unwilling to give it up for nothing- smart kid. I've got to beware of this pattern: Addie does something technically bad (stealing an apple!) Dad thinks it's cute. Somehow it's resolved by Addie running off with the car keys. Hmmmm...
